Our 19 goats, 4 cattle, 2 horses, 14 sheep, 3 llamas, and 15 pigs all rely on hay when the grass starts to die back. Every one of them needs to eat through the winter, and that means getting hay into the barn before the season turns and prices go up with it. This campaign is about doing that early. Money raised goes toward buying and storing enough hay to feed the whole farm through the cold months, so nobody is caught short in January wondering if there's enough left. If we reach the $13,000 stretch goal, we'll also stock up on straw for bedding, to help keep everyone warm on those cold nights. Residents like PeeWee the sheep are part of why this matters. PeeWee came to Sweet Farm after the young couple who adopted her from their landlord realized their property wasn't big enough to give her the space she needed, and they reached out for help rather than give up on her. She's sweet and loving, loves to play kickball, and like every other animal here, she's counting on a full hay barn to get through winter. A donation of any size helps fill that barn.
